We loved it! This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way possible. We were down for a concert at Budweiser Stage and it's location is great (we walked to and from the venue) and there is so much going on on Queen St West that you couldn't possibly be bored or disappointed with the area. The atmosphere and vibe of the hotel is trendy and a little funky. Loved the artwork on display (it seems they have a rotating gallery of artists come through which is a really nice touch). Staff were super friendly and helpful. The room is described to be on the smaller side but we actually found it to be fairly large and very comfortable (compared to other small boutique hotels we have stayed at), was clean and the bed was so comfortable. We also LOVED the price point of the hotel. Given how expensive staying in Toronto has become, it was a surprise to find this gem of a place to stay since we were able to be at a fun boutique hotel in a fabulous area of the city and still stay within budget (especially since a very similar hotel *ahem - a block away* which we also love is almost double the price). My only regret is we were just down for one night so I didn't get to fully take in all the hotel had to offer (restaurant, bar, library and more!) but I will certainly be coming back to stay here often. Do yourself a favour and book a room here...you will not be disappointed!

For me never having been to Toronto in fact in Canada in general and not really knowing where to stay, the Gladstone House was THE perfect place to experience the city for the first time. When I say the interior is absolutely GORGEOUS. So good for any picture moment and being surrounded by a beautiful and vibrant atmosphere. From the curated artwork that gets changed every few months to the steampunk style century old elevator — all the way to the rooms and accommodations with the gold features and pops of color it’s absolutely breathtaking! It’s literally in walking vicinity or even a five to 10 minute drive to any popular spot ranging from restaurants, music videos, jazz bars, shops, and more. Literally the perfect place to stay. It was my first solo trip internationally as well as my birthday and the staff made sure I had such a special time during my stay. They gifted me a handwritten note and a bottle of wine. They also checked in on me daily, providing recommendations for places to go. Overall they were so friendly! I’ve never experienced such amazing service like this before. I do plan to come back to Toronto again and I do plan staying at the Gladstone House. I couldn’t picture saying anywhere else and I’ve already raved about this beautiful boutique hotel to all my friends.

Excellent location. Really a stone's throw away from so many cool places. The hotel itself is also really cool - it's a historic building with the only functioning manual elevator in Toronto. This is a double-edged sword though; this means that the elevator always needs an operator to be used, and they need to be called if they're not around. For facilities, it was pretty standard. The comforter was VERY warm, we actually had to lower the thermostat because we were too warm. The smart TV had an option for YouTube that didn't work, but Netflix seemed to work. Apparently this is common, and they offered to move us to another room, but that day they had to had a full house so they offered us a free late check-out instead. A very nice gesture from caring staff. The restaurant on the ground floor is also quite good.

I wish more heritage buildings could be this well maintained and curated. We loved the art exhibition of the buildings history since the late 1800s and other beautifully decorated common spaces. The rooms themselves were modern and comfortable and we had no issues with street noise. We had breakfast sandwiches and lattes from the cafe on the main floor and they were excellent. I feel that the price for location along with the boutique feel was very reasonable. Parking was easy to access, very close and reasonably priced for downtown Toronto. We look forward to coming back in the future and will definitely be recommending Gladstone House and the neighbourhood to our friends and family. Loved it!

The staff was friendly and the building is awesome with some very cool features, including an old style elevator. The room was decorated very nicely and has underground secure parking a 3 minute walk across the street. There is a little grocery store around back and its within walking distance to many little bars and restaurants. There was a few vagrants walking around outside, but no one that was bothersome. The room was actually very quite at night for the area.
